family comes to town.

em, brynn, and hank came down to indiana yesterday to tag along at my ultrasound appointment with josh and me. i love being around my sisters. they're the coolest girls i know.

oh, and we found out this little baby inside of me is a GIRL!!!! i was up all night just thinking about her and all the fun we're going to have as a family of 4 in may. we love you baby girl!

i have the sweetest brother around. i told him i was gonna give up blogging because i was so far behind, so he wrote me a blog post. tender, right?

 

 

 

This is Taylor, Kaylea's older brother. I was talking to Kaylea last night and she mentioned that she has been too busy lately to post anything on her blog so I thought I would type her a blog post about how awesome she is. I have been around some great folks in my life and one of my favorites has always been my little sister Kaylea. She is an amazing mom, too. I love her to kibbles and bits. My mom and I were on the phone this past week and we were talking about what an awesome lady Kaylea is. She is a worker, she has a great deal of self awareness and she is FUN to be around. Love you Kaylea.

we're having another little truebie!

i'm 18 weeks right now and feeling sooo much more like myself. that first trimester was a doozy. josh and i are so pumped to meet this little baby and gus has no clue what's up. when i point to my stomach, he sticks his finger in my belly button. i'm pretty sure he thinks i'm just obsessed with showing him my belly. it's cool.

update.

gus has grown so much these past few weeks. he's walking almost 100% of the time now and he loves playing with other kids. we're at chick fil a like 12 times a week, so he gets lots of opportunities to play in the playplace with his new friends. lucky for us, the weather has been super mild in indiana so we've been playing at the park next to our house a ton and that makes gus happy as a clam. he loves playing in the dirt and leaves and watching the big kids play basketball. our baby gussy is turning into toddler gussy and we love watching the transition.

gus loved the bounce house at our ward trunk or treat. he even had a little girl that would protect him when the other kids would get too rough. it was tender.

it was a fun halloween full of delicious chili, hot dogs, and candy. what more could you want?

 we ate imos pizza. not our fave, but fun to experience.

 

 enjoyed some ted drewes frozen custard. i could eat this breakfast, lunch and dinner. heavenly.

 visited the arch, of course.

 

and experienced the deliciousness that is pappy's bbq. so so good.

 

gus and i were so glad we could tag along on josh's business trip last month. we love a getaway with our favorite guy.

gus turns the big 0-1.

we have a one year old! what?! it was so much fun celebrating gussy's first year last week. we had some friends and family over and gus loved playing with luke's son henry and opening his birthday presents. he is obsessed with his tractor. it's been so much fun seeing gus grow this year and we can't wait to see what this next year has in store! we sure are in love with this boy.

ch ch changes.

oh my goodness, it's been hectic around here. we've been packing and packing and packing and cleaning and keeping up with a spirited baby boy (who throws up way more than any kid should) and trying to get over colds and getting really excited for our NEW HOME...well duplex, but who cares!
we're getting out of tha hood! although, the hood has grown on us a bit and gus and i definitely fit in here with our no pants policy. we move tomorrow and it'll be exciting. i'm bribing people with honey cream donuts and ice cold water to help us move and it seems to be working. boys love treats.

all in all, moving totally blows but it's so exciting to think about what the future holds in our new little home. we can't wait.

oh and did i mention we no longer have to walk through gus's room to get to the bathroom. bonus!

the big 3-0.

josh turned 30 last month! i can't believe my hunny man is growing up so fast. we kept it low key with homemade spaghetti and a sweet stuff carrot cake, of course (sweet stuff has made our wedding cakes, birthday cakes, fathers day cakes, and gussy's welcome to the world cake...they're practically family). 30 has never looked so sexy!

we're back!

gus is a moving machine these days (and yesterday he stood by himself for like 10 seconds!) so we are always on our toes. he's learning so many new tricks and is still the happiest, chubbiest babe around. we love our wild boy.

oh yeah, i have a blog...

since becoming an instagrammer, i've kinda neglected this blog of mine. and since our computer crashed, i don't see many updates in the near future. buuut, gus is getting really big and really cute. he's also teething like crazy and sleeping hardly any. we're all a little tired, but mostly just really happy to have such a tender baby boy in our fam.

i'm addicted to chocolate chips more than ever. i don't know why i'm sharing this with the world...maybe to help stop the madness? i'm working part time at chick fil a again and that's exciting.  cfa has been in the news a lot and it feels so good to work for a company that supports the family.

josh is really really busy with school, work, and being the scout master for our ward. he's the best and we're lucky to have him. he's also the silliest and the hottest hipster dad ever. oh, and he's almost 30!

the summer is winding down and i can't wait to celebrate some birthdays and bask in cooler temps.

life is good. crazy, but good.

• y'all are watching the mormon bachelor right?? funniest/most uncomfortable thing i've ever seen. watch the webisodes online.
• the bachelorette finale was last night. jef-one f won. i'm happy for them, but sad for me and josh. what are we gonna watch now??
• oh, and josh cried during the finale.
• gus is drinking milk at night! this is big. also big: my boobs. weaning turns me into pamela anderson. 
•  gus has been the sweetest lil thing lately. he's always been sweet, but he's extra sweet lately and it's melting my heart.
• i'm loving my calling as sunday school teacher for the 16-18 yr olds. i'm learning so much about the scriptures and my kids are amazing.
• the olympics are almost here! i am so so so excited for the gymnastics and the diving.
