october.

we painted pumpkins one chilly morning. they loved it.

eating cornbread outside.

lots of park dates before it gets too cold (for me).

june made me swaddle her baby for like a week straight. anytime the baby came unswaddled, june came unglued. it was a fun week.

june's first dentist appointment! she was so sweet and the dental hygienist and dentist were so kind and patient.

when did gus get so big?? (he's actually pretty tiny, but huge to me)

gus turns four.

his birthday was full of ninja turtles, legos and chocolate cupcakes with sprinkles. it was the perfect day for our gussy. he's sensitive, imaginative, kind and smart. we're lucky to have him in our family.

chicago trip.

in september, josh and i went to chicago without the kids! my parents were so sweet to watch the kids for a few days. we walked a million miles, ate shake shack twice, went to a cubs game, saw the bean, and went to bed early in a nice hotel room with no laundry or dishes to do. it was heaven. having one on one time with josh was just what i needed. i love that man.

apple picking part 2.

my parents came into town for gus's 4th birthday so we all went apple picking at hubers. it was the perfect fall day, made better with crunchy apples, pumpkin donuts, and pumpkin ice cream. we all had so much fun hanging out with michael and georgia. when they're around, josh and i are chopped liver. "only gigi can carry me" "only gigi can buckle my carseat" "only papa can hold my hand"

apple picking part 1.

cousins.

it was so much fun to be able to see cousins and grandparents in ohio this summer. the kids had a blast and it makes me want to figure out a way for us all to live closer together. more cousin time, please!

indianapolis temple open house.

it was such a wonderful experience to be able to walk through the temple as a family. it was beautiful! temples are so special and sacred and i'm grateful we now have one in the hoosier state.

june wearing the little booties. so cute!

oh man, it was soooooo hot.

they had a Christus statue in the visitors center tent. june told us it was scary.

a highlight for gus was this huge fan blowing cold air into the visitors center. fun times.

lately.

going to church with these two isn't always easy, but they always look cute so that helps.

meijer is a popular errand thanks to sandy the horse. a penny well spent.

i locked us out of the house on a very hot day...whoops! luckily i had water and snacks in my bag and our landlord came quickly. what a saint!

napping kids are my favorite kids.

louisville slugger museum.

this museum was so much fun for our whole family. the tour was quick and there was lots of machines to look at and bats to hold which kept everyone entertained.

blueberry picking.

I'd been hearing suuuch good things about Bryants Blueberry Farm, so Josh and I took the kids on Friday and it was PERFECT.  The people were kind, the place was quaint, and the blueberries were the tastiest ones I've ever eaten.  Gus, Josh and I ate our weight in berries, while June had a blast just picking and exploring.  It was pretty wet from all the rain we've been getting but the kids loooved all the puddles to hop in.  Oh and they had a little bar of soap hanging from a rope and a water faucet outside for people to wash their hands and Gus and June reeeeally loved that too.  The place was amazing and now Josh and I can't stop thinking about buying some land to have blueberry bushes of our own and maybe some goats and chickens too.
