ya know that keri hilson song, pretty girl rock? well, i love it. when i'm blaring it in my car, i always feel like such a b.a woman. i love that keri calls herself pretty in that song. i mean, she should, she's a babe. and ya know what? so am i.

being pregnant makes me think about motherhood and womanhood a lot. i love being a woman. i love having a butt and boobs and hips and thighs. i love that i'm creating a baby inside of me. i love that i have this growing bump to remind me of how awesome i am.

i haven't always been so kind to my body. i've struggled with body image issues since i was 15 and it's taken a lot of counseling and love from my family to help me realize that i am pretty...no matter what the number on the scale says or the size of my jeans. you see, when i don't stress about every little calorie or beat myself up about eating too many desserts, my body looks better and feels better. health is pretty.

i hope that if this little babe is a girl, that she knows how beautiful she is. and i know she'll be a looker because i'm her mama.

oh, and if it's a boy, i hope he knows that i'm real sorry that he's gonna be so petite. on the plus side, he'll be fine like his daddy.

k, so the moral of this post is: love your body. and go buy "pretty girl rock" on itunes stat.

institute.

every summer, the louisville institute teacher takes us all to a bats game. i seriously look forward to it every year. if you're in the louisville area, come to insty! and if you're anywhere else, go to your institute! it's always a good time and super uplifting. it's also where i first talked to josh. awwww.

21 weeks.

i'm in love with my new anthro shirt (thanks mom!). it's nice to be able to shop at my fave stores still. the bump is getting bigger and the kicks are getting stronger! brynn got to feel baby trueblie kick last weekend and josh felt some kicks last night while we were watching "the voice". are you watching that? we love it. and we love this baby so so much. i feel so blessed to be able to carry this sweet baby in me every day. i know that there are people out there that are struggling to get pregnant and it breaks my heart. my prayers are with them. i just want everyone to have a baby truebie.

also, i really need to give a shout out to my mother. she's done so much to help make this pregnancy relaxing and fun. she gives me great advice, finds the cutest baby clothes, and last night she even got me some new bras. i tell you, that woman is an angel. thanks mama georgia for all you do.

i'm so grateful for my dad. he's patient, sweet, funny, supportive, a worthy priesthood holder, and such a great example to me. i love you mike! thanks for all you do for josh and i. we're so lucky to have you!

p.s. happy fathers day to my boo, josh. our babe isn't even born yet and he's already such a good dad. and he puts up with all of my mood swings so well. hats off to you, josh, for staying so calm!

20 weeks.

i'm halfway there! i think my stomach definitely grew a lot this past week. i mean, check out that bump! i have heartburn all the time which means this babe is gonna have tons of hair, riiight? i have an ultrasound with my obgyn on tues and i can't wait for josh to see our adorable baby for the first time...well he saw the baby when it was like 7 weeks, but i can't wait for him to see the babe lookin a little more human-like. i love seeing it move and kick around in my tummy. pregnancy is such a trip. i have a baby inside of me...how cool is that?

today i went swimming with jessica at the porters and it was so nice. the weather was perfect and it was so good to hang out with jessica, kathy, and hannah. love them. i also got a tits burned, but just on one arm. worth it.

3d ultrasound.

today i got my first 3d ultrasound and it was the sweetest thing ever. seeing our little baby moving around like an acrobat made me so anxious to hold him or her in my arms. baby trubie is absolutely adorable. come on november!

saturday.

we had such a good weekend. it was productive, but also relaxing and the weather was absolutely beautiful. we did a morning session at the louisville temple (so needed), followed by some yummy chick-fil-a and bra shopping. guess how many D's are in my bra size now?

later that night, we went to downtown jeff to catch one of their movies on the lawn. they played shreck forever after and it was so funny and sweet. tears were shed.

downtown jeff has really stepped up their game. there's tons of events going on this summer that sound super fun. they're having a bbq cookoff this weekend. yum!

19 weeks.

i am loving being pregnant right now. the all day sickness has pretty much gone away which makes me one happy mama. we're almost to the halfway mark!

come to our house for a bbq.

look who bought a grill! it's perfect in every way. thank goodness for wedding gift cards. seriously, if you live near us, come over and let us grill out for you!

fox hollow farm.

on saturday, josh and i headed to fox hollow farm for their special summer event. they had live music, a bbq (with grassfed beef), cheese sampling, and some fresh (and overpriced) produce. it was like 100 degrees which made it all the more fun. hello tan! i just love all the events that go on in the summer time. yes, i'm obsessed with summer.

bats game.

last friday, josh and i went to a louisville bats game. the weather was perfect and the bats beat the columbus clippers! i love the summer!

during the fireworks, our lil baby was kickin away. such a sweet moment.

last night, josh and i went to the new albanian for dinner. we went there last summer and loved it and it definitely stayed amazing. the food is so fresh and the service is fabulous. it's located in downtwon new albany and it's the perfect lunch or dinner spot!

(i would have posted a picture of my full burger and fries and josh's homemade wings....but we were really hungry.)

we seriously had so much fun in columbus last weekend. brynn is leaving today to visit and to attend a golf tournament with my parents and i am so jealous. i need some more pei wei in my life!

18 weeks.

i can't believe how much my body has changed in 18 weeks! i'm starting to look more pregnant each day and i love it. i have an ultrasound on the 21st and i'm so excited to see what this little baby looks like!

look who's cookin.

i'm pretty sure it was snowing the last time i made dinner. i'm a real slacker, but yesterday i decided to get to cookin. i whipped up this hot lil number and it turned out delish. try it!

whole wheat spaghetti noodles
olive oil
butter
garlic
basil
broccoli
parm
garlic salt (cause i really love garlic)

make your spaghetti noodles according to the package and add your broccoli the last 2 minutes. drain. meanwhile, heat up your butter and olive oil and add in your garlic. when it's cooked (1-2 mins) pour it over your noodle/broccoli mixture and add in garlic salt, basil, and parm. easy peasy!
