we really love hubers.

gus at 2 weeks.
hubers was my first outing after having gus. it felt so good to get out and enjoy the perfect fall weather with my family.
gus at 1 week.
gus the day before he was born.

yes, we're obsessed with fall activities at hubers...and we might have passed that obsession onto baby gus. but seriously, can you blame us? who doesn't love apple picking and pumpkin ice cream?

happy halloween!

love,
gus gus

gus and gigi.

gus really hit the jackpot when it comes to grandmas. i mean, hello, he gets georgia. she loves on him all day long, swaddles him just right, and thinks every single thing he does is adorable. gus is a lucky boy.

and i'm a lucky girl to have georgia as my mom. she is so giving, so kind, so hilarious, so sexy, so sassy and such a good momma trainer. she taught me everything i know. thanks mom for all you do for us. i want to be just like you.

we love you gigi! can't wait to see you again soon!

37 weeks.

this is my view these days. josh and i were talking last night and he said, "remember when you didn't show for forever and you were upset about it?" i take back that crazy talk. these days, you can tell from a plane that i'm pregnant. weird how that happens...
(jammie pic because let's face it, it's my new uniform)

hello full term! i'm so antsy to meet this little one, but at the same time i'm so grateful for these last few weeks josh and i have together-just the two of us. most people wait a tits before they start makin babies, but that's just not how we roll. we're more like "hey, let's do everything at once and see if we survive!" and guess what?? we're doing awesome. pretty sure the Lord has blessed us a ton this past year. we've got a beautiful home (in da hood, but still), 2 working vehicles, a loving relationship, we're both healthy, and we have a baby boy on the way. does it get any better??

happy b-day mr. d.

today is my incredible dad's 53rd birthday, so i thought i'd give him a blog shout out...
my dad is so kind and loving. he is always telling us kids and my mom how much he loves us and he shows it too. he's answered desperate phone calls from me in the middle of business meetings and he never sounds annoyed. he knows just what to say to make the situation seem bearable and make me feel at ease.
he loves my mom and treats her with respect. i grew up knowing how a good man treats women, so i knew what to look for in a husband. josh is just like my dad. he never yells, calls me bad names or puts me down.
he loves to go out and do things. whenever josh and i visit my parents, they always have the best activities planned. even the small things seem super exciting with mike and georgia. they know how to have a good time.
he's the best dad. mike is seriously number one. i'm really blessed to have him in my life. i'm so glad he and my mom decided to have a fourth kid because i really wouldn't want anyone else to be my dad. he's been there for me through everything and he's never given up on me. he thinks i'm smart and capable and beautiful and fun. i wish everyone had mike as their dad!

happy birthday, mikey! thanks for all you do for me, josh, and our baby boy. we're so lucky to have you. also, thanks for putting together the stroller and baby bjourn. you made that baby carrier look goooood.

day off.

my main squeeze, josh, never...i repeat never takes days off. that boy works and works and when he's not working, he's schooling or taking care of stuff around the house. he's a real gem. today, a miracle happened though, and josh took the day off and it's been a nonstop party over here. we've been shopping, eating our favorite frozen yogurt for lunch (we're two wild and crazy guys), building up our food storage, and who knows what other shinanigans we'll get into tonight. i'm so glad i married such a sexy stud. yay for days off!

36 weeks.

i didn't get dressed til pretty late today (ahh the life of the unemployed) so here i am large and in charge at 36 weeks in my jim jams. at my appt yesterday, the nurse practitioner said our little guy's head is super far down and my cervix is looking nice and thin. woot woot for being thin somewhere!

josh and i are on pins and needles to see baby truebs. we're getting soooo close!

little happenings.

so, since i'm not working, i have quite a bit of time on my hands. it's kinda nice though, because for the rest of my life i'll be taking care of babies, finishing school, and working so i figure i should really relish this opportunity. while i was at my mom's last week, she taught me how to fishtail (i was certain i was having a baby girl and a good mom knows how to fishtail. am i right?) so yesterday, i decided to use some of my extra time and fishtail away. ahhh i love it. i told josh since we're having a boy, i can just fishtail his rat tail. josh seemed all against that idea...weird.
also, i've been packing my hospital bag (hello target sales) and it feels so good to get that going. i'm convinced i'm going to go into labor early. a girl can dream, right? whenev truebs decides to come, i'll be ready.

oh and even if you're not in need of a hospital bag, you should get this tote from target. it's $9.99 and it's pink on the inside. i mean, come on.

general conference weekend.

oh my goodness, i could not have had a better weekend. i have always loved general conference, but this last one was seriously so perfect. every talk really touched my spirit and i walked away feeling so inspired. i'm excited to make some changes in my life and work towards becoming a better wife, mother, daughter, sister, and friend.

josh and i kicked off sunday morning with some trader joe's pumpkin pancakes and oh my, they are delicious. run, don't walk. we also, enjoyed some strolls around our hood and the park yesterday since the weather has been so beautiful. i can't believe it's already fall! i'm looking forward to mittens, frye boots, tights, chunky sweaters, oh yeah and my sweet little baby....BOY! we found out last night and we are so excited! turns out, the chinese gender test is in fact 100% accurate.

35 weeks.

i spent last week in columbus with my parents and it was amazing as usual. georgia and i ran errands, shopped, met up with katalyn and her adorable son owen, ate delicious food, baked, and caught up on our favorite tv shows. my mom really knows how to have a good time. oh and to top it all off, georgia and i took a much needed trip to ikea! ahhh it felt so good to get some organizational items and some cute decorative things too. they have the cutest baby bedding and toys. our home is lookin real nice. thanks georgia for taking such good care of me and even offering to push me in a wheelchair. you're a doll.

less than 5 weeks til truebs is here in our ikea wonderland!
